Only four dishes available:
1. Tortilla de patata
The only make one of these renowned potato and caramelised onion omelttes, one at 1pm and one at 8pm.
There are only 17 servings to each one, so you must book it in advance.
Get there at 11am and at 5pm. Duck under the half open door, and ask for your reservation. Your names will be called out promptly at 1pm and 8 pm... if you are not there to receive it, then your reserved slice will be sold to the many who did not reserve one.
2. Chuletón (Chuleta de Buey- Vaca Vieja)
Choose your own huge dry-aged steak. Made to order. Ask the waiter to reserve or find you a table.
3. Ensaladas de Tomate
Fresh "corazon de buey", or ox heart tomatoes – that have been splashed with rich olive oil and a little white wine vinegar, doused liberally with salt, and served with hunks of crusty bread.
4. Fried padron peppers.
These large green chillis have been flash-fried in a hot pan with a little olive oil, doused (liberally, of course) with salt, and thrown on a plate.
We could not rank the 5 Bars we visited on the Hidden Treasures route
against each other, as all were good
and providing essentially different services to customers
